On 13th and 14th March 2024, NTPC Dadri organised a Rural Sports Meet for the children belonging to the project affected villages who are above the age of 14. The meet was inaugurated by Shri. GUVM Rao, GM (O&M) along with other senior members of the Dadri management. Further, Shri GUVM Rao, GM (O&M) encouraged each athlete who had trained tirelessly to overcome obstacles and utilise this moment to showcase their dedication, passion, and commitment towards the sport. He also urged the participants to remember the true essence of sportsmanship while giving their best, supporting their teammates, and respecting their opponents. 

On 13th March, the event began with the registration of 448 participants in various games such as athletics, volley ball, kho-kho and kabbadi. Shri. Rao declared the competition open by overseeing the first 100m track event and the senior management of Dadri also engaged in releasing a bunch of white and blue coloured balloons defining the spirit of sportsmanship at NTPC. Throughout the day, the sun-soaked grounds of Maharana Pratap Stadium was filled with energy and enthusiasm as the participants showcased fervent competition, camaraderie, and celebration of athleticism.

Further, on 14th March, the day witnessed the final events of all the games that showcased the skills and determination of the athletes across a spectrum of events, including track and field, long jumps, and high jumps, kho-kho, volleyball and kabbadi. Later, a prize distribution ceremony was conducted where Shri. GUVM Rao, GM(O&M), Shri. Rajsekhar Pala, GM (Operation), Shri. Wilson Abraham, AGM (HR) and other members of the senior management of Dadri felicitated the winners with trophies and medals and gave them tracksuits as a token for their effort and determination. 

A total of 448 athletes were a part of the sports meet where 139 participated in track events, 60 in Kho-Kho, 81 in Volley Ball, 60 in Kabbadi Girls and 108 in Kabbadi Boys. The faces of the participants were beaming with pride and accomplishment as the Rural Sports Meet 2023-24 came to an end.
